DOJ dismisses Richard Gutierrez Libel Suit against PEP
The Department of Justice dismisses the 25 million peso libel suit filed by GMA-7 actor Richard Gutierrez against Philippine Entertainment Portal due to “lack of probable cause”.
The resolution of DOJ was received this morning by PEP’s legal counsel, Atty. Sandra Marie Olaso-Coronel of Yorac Arroyo Chua Caedo & Coronel Law Firm.
The case was filed by Richard against PEP’s EIC Jo-Ann Maglipon, Managing Editor Karen Pagsolingan, and writer Bong Godinez last April on the Makati Prosecutor’s Office due to the false article published by PEP saying that the actor has been involved in a squabble , gun-totting incident with Michael Flores in the birthday party of Zorro’s director Mark Reyes last march 28.
