Google announces Chrome (OS) operating system, 9 months after the release of their Chrome browser.

Speed, simplicity and security was said to be the key aspects of google chrome os, It will be a fast and lightweight, open source operating system based on linux kernel that will run on both ARM chips and x86.

Google is currently now partnering with various OEM manufacturers, so they can bundle their chrome operating system on these netbooks which will be available to the market on the second half of 2010.

Netbooks are those cheap laptops which comes typically in smaller size screens (ex. 10 inches) which only cost around $500 and below, it comes with no cd drives and is primarily designed for web browsing.
